Another head-fier shipped me a 7lb package over fedex international ground, and it was $16.00 with an eta of 6 business days... USPS EMS is a few bucks more and I believe is 2-3 days. Why is Fedex so damn expensive?

Did this person go in the store or online? Some people get ripped off in the store from what I've read.

I believe my dad uses Fedex every time he ships something. He has his own account and prints out his own labels. I don't know if he gets it cheaper, though. His shipping seems to be fairly priced.

Just wait 'til you get an invoice for the brokerage fees. Then, you'll have something to really cry about.

7 lbs. isn't insignificant. I paid ~$12 for a 3lb. ground shipment, and it was the cheapest I could find.

The best deal for shipping small packages, especially heavy ones, is USPS Priority Mail flat rate boxes.

USPS express mail seems good too, for a few bucks more I could have had that, which probably would avoid any tariffing / brokerage, and at the same time would have been 2-3 times quicker.

Well, atleast the government can get the theory of taking an item, putting it on an truck / airplane, putting it back on a track, and then taking it off the truck and delivering it to somebodies door correct!

I'm just saying, USPS is a few bucks more for air shipping, 2-3 business days, and no brokerage fees. Turns out he declared the value very low just incase anyway.
