On my last flight from Toronto to Vancouver (I was visiting my parents) I put my Polar S625X heart rate monitor in my luggage. I placed it in the bag last minute becaues I'd used it earlier that day, and so when I zipped it up, it was right on top - first thing you would see when opening it up.

Then I get home to Vancouver and unpack. I didn't immediately notice that the heart rate monitor was missing. In fact it took me a few days to realize that I didn't have it anymore. I quickly remembered how i had packed my watch, so there was no way I had simply misplaced it in getting unpacked.

Some jerk luggage handler stole my watch! I'm so pissed off that I haven't gone for a run since. I'm debating buying it again cause it really help keep me motivated while I was running (setting pace and distance goals for myself), but it's a lot of money. On one hand, I can't really afford it- if I buy it, it's going to go on my line of credit temporarily. But the flip side is, when I have it I run, and that keeps me healthy (my dad had a sextuple heart bypass) and it helps me manage stress and anxiety.

So.. convince me to buy another one.

If you buy it, it'll save you more money in the future. You won't need to pay for expensive surgeries because you don't need it!

And you don't want your stress and anxiety to build up to cause mental disorders.

I live in Canada, so even if I need surgeries, I won't have to pay for them. Damn, socialized medical care is a good thing! That said, I don't really want anyone to crack my chest open and connect me up to a heart lung machine!

That's scary!

The mental disorders is a good point too. Already sort of crazy, and I'm trying to finish my PhD. Woudln't do anyone any good if I ended up fully crazy!

Oh yes, just the idea of SURGERY makes you happy doesn't it? Opening up your chest, cutting and attaching things inside you. Blood ALL OVER the place. Open to more problems after including infection or even DEATH. RUN AND GET THAT WATCH!!!!
