I Have the Sound Blaster AE9

Replaced my ZXR

But the bass function on the SBX settings is not there, its greayed out

its only available if you are on headphone mode, speaker mode sometimes lacks bass but there are no bass options other than the EQ

Anyone else?

if i'm not wrong, SBX is only available on headphones. in case I AM wrong - did you try enable it via the ACM?

oh yes your right its not available on speaker more, the bass response on the ZXR is better than the AE9,
