Why are some people so against vacuum tubes?

They clearly change the sound, so the stuff about them not being worth it is clearly just a matter of tastes, and not a matter of them not doing anything. So why all the hate for vacuum tubes? Some of us like that sound. Feels more human, less cold. every time I google about tubes i see a ton of links describing how they're lies, ******** blah blah (here's just one of probably thousands http://sonido.uchile.cl/articulos/tenbiggestliesaudio.pdf )
I think I even saw a car commercial making fun of tubes. yes here it is http://adsoftheworld.com/media/tv/acura_excuses_tube_amp

Well, you can't argue technically that tubes do add distortion. So whatever they do add is changing the music. If we like it or not is a different story. I like the tube sound, I find it more natural and engaging. But I agree that measurements don't lie. But sometimes less than perfect sound just sounds better.
The main reason is that hearing is so subjective and so biased by expectations and the mind playing tricks, well..... it's opening pandora's box.
Also a lot of us are talking about tech - we are gear heads always on the hunt for the next better thing to  improve our system. I wish sometimes we would talk less about the technology but more about the music we are listening to. I recently got a bottle head crack on loan and what this amp did to my T90 is magic. I can't stop listening to this setup. it's just so sublime. Everything that was mssing from the headphone before is now there. It's amazing.
Anyhow, I am curious how this thread is developing.
