Why amplify the ground channel ?

Hey all.

I've been casually looking at all the other headphone amp designs out there, and what strikes me as odd, is that many designs (such as the PPA or the M3) amplify the ground channel also.

Why is that ? I mean, 0V in should be 0V out, and if the ground is anything other than 0V, then I'll assume you probable shouldn't be amplifying it ...

Technically it's not amplifying the ground, but buffering it

By doing this, you are isolating the signal ground from the PSU ground leading to less noise on the output.
