well i was walking around hong kong(accompanied by swampass(if you don't know what it is consider yourself lucky))

and i saw a pair of hd 650 and decided to buy it(HK is out of cd3000, i've previously though about the cd3000s))

i got home, opened the box which smelled(almost puked), plugged it into my xp-7 via ipod mini, and WOW, i should of gotten these instead of the sr 225 two years ago. I love the sound of the 650 much more than the sr 225s. although i prefer the looks of the grados, the sound and comfort(well right now the headband is pretty tight around my head, with the jetlag going too i'm getting a headache) of the 650 is unbeatable. i look like magneto in the mirror but it's ok, sound is too beautiful

i can't imagine the sound getting any better with upgraded headphone cables, and a cdp, i'm definitely looking forward to that(the zu cable looks so pretty).

i'd like to ask, what is a decent cdp for my setup?(around 500)

anyways i am very very happy right now, sennheiser all the way(swear to goodness if team grado throws anything at me.....i will..)

Hey Chiefy - welcome to the club! I received my HD650s about a week ago and could not be happier. This weekend I bought a Berning microZOTL amp that is going to be paired with a Philips 963a (which I still need to get modded). Right now I am using a MisterX built PIMETA and the LaRocco Pocket Reference (which also needs to be modded). Both amps sound great. Back to your question, the 963a for the money is a great sounding source. From all of the research that I have done, it is quite a price performer. Good luck in your quest.

We all understand what you're saying. But the problem is, will you be saying the same thing 2 years from now when the HD800s come out?

Man I'm lovin my HD580's, but I'd never think about upgrading to the 600's or even 650's until my source and amp is up to par. That will probably be never so I guess I'll just get some HD600 grilles and maybe some better cables than these Oehlbach's and call it a day

You coming to the HK meet (with your swamp ass)?
Haha didn't know you were gonna drop the cash so fast, thought you were just for a look. Got that at Tak Fat or Yau Shing?

lol, i'll try to make it to the meet(i really have nothing else to do, i spend most of the day riding the double deckers, subway, train and walkin around), i know where the polytechnic place is but i'm afraid i'll get lost

i didn't want to drop the money that fast either, but i don't have much patience, and besides 362 is a pretty good price, i got it at yau shing, the guy discounted it to 3800, but with the 5% cc fee it came to 3900(362 US) <---- edited, 2900, not 3900(whoosh

that price sound about right in hong kong?

p.s. if i do go to the meet i might show you my swamp ass, during the really hot summer days in HK my crack flows like the nile river

but it's not as hot these two days?(arrived yesterday) back in june it was really really hot and humid, couple of times i felt the sweat drip down to my leg, which is pretty gross considering it's place of origin

oh and also, i fart alot, hope you guys won't mind, i'll try to go to the meet empty tanked so i will blow blanks, but make that a promise though
