I have a pair of Sony CD3000's that I want to start using more. They have been sitting around for about a year.

Does anybody have any mods done to theirs? Cable, Woody mod? How does it affect the sound?

Thanks

There's always if you decide the mods aren't worth it, and you want to try some other headphones, you can sell the CD3000s to me

You could always PM headphile, and ask what improvements you'd get. I know I've seen a few woody pictures of the CD3000... the name "baby R10" comes to mind.

My very limited impressions (at Atlanta meet) with the CD3000 woody mod is it muddied the instrument separation. I think two other people commented on the same thing at the meet. Important to note we didn't include the foam damping when woodied; so the effects could be from the lack of damping rather than wood.

For better or worse, it's a noticably different flavor of sound. It looks awesome too

When I was in my CD3000 glory, I called Larry at Headphile, and he told me that he doesn't do the wood mods on the 3000's anymore! Guess over time the demand died down, and he moved on to other prijects.
