Who else had Hotmail make you beta-tester?

Days ago, I noticed that my MSN hotmail page had changed. Things were shifted around, and many operations worked a little differently. I didn't pay much attention at first, but some of the operations were just plain annoying and non-intuitive, so I looked further and somehow found a tab that said something like "Revert back to MSN Hotmail."

Apparently, MSN had "volunteered" me without my knowledge to Beta-test their "Livemail" instead. After I pushed that "Revert" button, the only way to revert to the good old MSN Hotmail was to fill out an annoying MSN survey about Livemail that was many pages long!

Typical.

Me too. I didn't like it and ended up switching back to a the regular MSN hotmail. I'm just not a big fan of the new format.

I switched back too. I didn't like it much. Also, you don't have to take the survey to switch back. Just click the Switch back button, there is an option to "not take the survey" Just click it and you're back to normal.

I volunteered for the Live beta hoping it improved over the old version. Pretty much a zero-sum gain. Yahoo mail and Gmail are ahead of the game here (though I still use a Hotmail account daily too). Too bad. Missed opportunity for MS.

I suspect the various MS Live functions are going to be showing more and more.

Oh good. Didn't know there was the switch back possibility. Good to know, I'm switching back right now.

Edit: can't find the option, where is it?

That, and Gmail is now open to anybody now. Any 1337ness factor testers of that had a few months ago don't have it anymore.

I joined the beta of live mail back when it wasn't even open to join!

. If nothing, it looks better, and since I do all my proper emailing in gmail, its not even a problem.

So there you are, the best version of live mail is little-to-no live mail. Must give credit though, my first email address was a hotmail address.
