Well...procrastination at it's best. I thought my term paper was due on September 27th...only to find out, when I re-read my schedule, it said AUGUST 27th....which is Monday.

Anybody know where I can get an essay of the book "Night" by Elie Weisel?

Normally, I would just sit and read the book in a sitting, even if it were a day or two away, but tomorrow I work a double, and there is no way in hell I can read the book and write and essay that even halfway makes sense.

Crap....this is what happens when you put this stuff off. Granted, I only had a week even if I woulda knew the correct date...it's still better than the NO TIME I have now

I am pretty sure you can buy essays online. However, I'd think most professors would find out.
May be buy an essay, read a summery of the book, and make up some crap

Hopefully you won't find the help you're looking for. By stealing/ using another's essay you would be devaluing the work and accomplishments of the honest students. Thanks for contributing to the sad state of education

Take it like a man. One reasonable option - read/write as much as you can on Sunday, then on Monday honestly explain your situation to the instructor and see if you can get some sort of deadline extension with penalty.

Here are the Sparknotes. To be honest, Night is a pretty straightforward book. Be familiar with Holocaust atrocities and the main characters, and keep track of Wiesel's thoughts on religion, struggling to keep with loved ones, and on silence.

When you have time, you should read the book. It's not long, maybe 100 pages in a relatively large font. Very depressing, but profound. The plight these people went through...

Trust me..I'm normally one to take it and just just suck it up, but this is a pretty hefty portion of my grade. There are sites out there pretty much designed for you to copy/paste the essay, but you have to pay $20 for a month. I'm trying to AVOID paying $20 for something that I'll use ONCE....but if it comes down to it, I'll proabbly end up doing it.

I have a vague idea on the book, and I probably could write some vague matter on the topic, but I'm afraid it's be too vague without enough references to where it'd be noticeable.

I ended up thinking it would be Sept, cause honestly, who the hell makes you write an essay that's due in like two weeks. Most give you ATLEAST a month...

Don't do it, Nate. I promise you that any half-decent prof can spot such an essay a mile away, especially if you've turned in any kind of writing before. Plus, as I have a few English professor friends, they get totally pissed off when they suspect such, usually run it through Turn It In, and will fail you, not just for the paper, but for the course. If you cheated, I'd fail you. I don't know what other penalities your school has (kicked out?), but most do not take plagerism lightly.

From what little I know of you, you seem to hold honesty and doing the right thing highly. I know you're in a panic right now, but I think it would serve you far better to stand up for those values and take the hit if you blew it. You may get a bad grade (though you could try working something out), but even if you got away with it, turning into a lying cheater because you screwed up is no way to go. You'd always be a lying cheater and a hypocrite to boot. It's easy to be honest when it serves you, but the true test of someone who claims to have integrity is how honest he can be when it works against him. If you followed through with this, I'd lose respect for you entirely.

Yeah...I feel really guilty about asking for the help...I'm trying to read the book now. I put a little dot at the bottom of the page to denote if I understood the page or not. If I don't COMPLETELY understand the course of events of what happenned, I put another dot and re-read the page. The writing style of this book SUCKS. It's like a choppy-sentenced memoir, and is hard to read (some of my pages have 4 dots on them!!!), especially at this hour and with how I'm trying to figure if I should give up sleep to read a 100 page book for my double shift tomorrow...I have easily 7/8 of the book left to read, with a 10am shift tomorrow...

Gah....this sucks arse.

Try to get an extension. If that doesn't work put out a paper (through a couple of all nighters) that you can call your own. Don't cheat, it devalues your character and compromises your integrity.

So you have no problem with cheating but paying to cheat is an issue for you. I find this quite amusing.

boomana brought up a good point with turnitin.com. A year or so ago I borrowed two of my friends' essays for two different things, and used large portions of their essays to complete mine. I turned it in stupidly to turnitin.com, just glad I was done with it.

I got a call from the English teachers (yes, multiple) a few months later, and it turns out turnitin.com caught me so badly; it was the definition of ownage. Whole sections were highlighted by the program where it matched up word for word where I had copied.

Eventually it escalated to the dean, but since I fessed up right at the beginning to doing it all, my friends got off lightly (they were still charged with helping me cheat though), and I failed a semester of English and had to go to summer school to make up for the 'F.' Trust me, summer school is hell; one of the worst tedious things I went through. One of the girls dropped out early because she was pregnant, just to name one of the issues in my class.

Judging by your profile, you are past high school, but I read the book "Night" in high school. It does feel "disconnected;" you can't get a real sense of any feelings in the book. But that's my opinion. Also, it is indeed a real straight-forward book; no deep symbolic meanings or things the author is trying to be elusive about. It is a story about the author going through hell, and what he lost in that time period; can't be more linear than that.

Remember, even if you do turn in a sub-par paper, it is totally your work. It's yourself; there is a sense of pride you did it, rather than turn in somebody else's essay.

Good luck, and don't cheat!

Well I read that book in 7th grade and found it fairly simple.

Edit:

So all the advice I have is...try a bit harder. Perhaps you're tired? I'm not sure what kind of hours you work, but it is 4 am in Florida right now. Maybe try to work in the reading tomorrow? I know I always have trouble reading while tired. Good luck pal.

Try to get an extension or if not, just turn it in late if possible. It will serve as a painful reminder to double check and you'll probably feel better actually reading and turning your own work , even if its late or doesnt count or is heavily grade skewed, I dunno. This is what I would do.
