Which would sound better? (A) Dock connector to RCA or (B) iPod dock line out to RCA?

My budget is under $100, and preferably no more than $50.

Should I just get something like this?

(A)

Or should I get an iPod dock and get something like this?

(B)

I take it that headphone jack to RCA is the worst sounding connection.

The RCA end will be connecting to a quality DJ mixer that is connected to a pair of Behringer 2031A for listening pleasure.

you didnt mention what ipod you are using which could have some bearing, but i would have thought one which uses the ipod lineout dock, not the headphone out as this will be better sound quality (A).

you dont want a headphone signal being sent to your DJ mixer.

try here: http://www.qables.com/shop/index.php...4cec7cae19adbb

p.s. your two poll options look mighty similar

Sorry...I will be using the new 6th generation 80 GB iPod Classic.

I was also looking at Qables.com but that cable is unfortunately out of my price range.

I believe what he wants you to choose between is using an LOD (ie. like what Qables sells) or using a Apple Universal Dock-type thing (most of which have 1/8" line out jacks) along with a mini to RCA cable.

cause a LOD from the likes of ALO or QUABLES is going to be better quality than having a apple dock block then a possibly lowish quality interconnect

thats two junctions right there.

and you are reliant on the lowest common denominator in the equation, which all must pass through an apple type dock. regardless if you buy a real expensive interconnect

you should immediately:

contact member TURBO for a turbo LOD portable dock (around 30$)

contact member skyline889 for a mini->rca cable (depends on length and cable type, but i got a gorgeous cable for under 40)

dont waste money on overpriced amazon cables

Ahh, fooey. I wouldnt worry about that. The quality coming out of the ipod isn't good enough that you will ever notice any degredation in the connection. And it allows you to swap cables down the road. turbo's LOD is supposed to be one of the best. you might contact skyline aobut making a LOD cable, but I dont want to put words in his mouth. I dont know what his pricing is, or if he is willing. i just know that if he does, you'll like it
