My E-MU 1212M has quit working. So I'm looking for a new (USB) soundcard. Preconditions: 192 kHz recording capability and MIDI interface. It doesn't have to be professional grade nor offer microphone inputs (though it would be a nice bonus) – I was satisfied with the sound quality of the E-MU 1212M (less so with the complicated user interface). What I have in mind is something like the Terratec DMX6Fire – candidate No.1 among the offers I've seen so far. Or is there a card with better sound quality or better features in the same price category (or above)?
I would be thankful for some ideas.
