How much improvement can I expect from my PPA (discrete buffer) with the addition of a steps P/S?

Do you all think it can come close to a GS-1?... or will the GS-1 hammer the lower $$$ DIY rig?

If it matters... Primary cans are Grados and a koss A250, with HD580, K240s seeing periodic use.

Hey....the PPA with discrete buffer and STEPs PSU is quite a good amp. In fact, I have been very impressed by it. The STEPs PSU provide nicer bass response while the discrete buffer improve resolution, and details. I think it is a very good upgrade. I still think a maxed out PPA is still an excelletn amp. I've compared my PPA side by side with HR MAX 2003/4 and think that both amps were in the same level.

Just want to add that I had pretty good result with the HD580 with my PPA. I think the PPA is a real bargain for the going price on sell/trade forum.
