Between HFI and the Pro line ,
which Ultrasones have the hardest hitting drum sound? Not necessarily deep bass, but hard hitting impact? I am interested in the Pro 900, but am concerned that their deep bass may take away from some midrange punch. I like the sound of drums when I attend a concert. Which headphones will give me this sound?
These will be used with a Heed Canamp.

the ultrasone dj1 will pound your brain into mush if thats what you are after! but it doesnt have the nice mids and highs of the hfi-780, which has decent tight bass. the hfi-700 has little bass, havent heard the pro line yet.

i tried both the hfi-580 & the dj1 at a studio and the hfi-580 is definitely punchier and MUCH more fun to listen to, the bass was just incredible, and when I asked here people said the hfi-580 were bassier and more fun than the hfi-780, but the 780 were better overall.

Between PRO900 and HFI780, definitly HFi's.Less vibrant and more forward witch giving a dryer and more "felt" kick. But the kick itself is very alike between those 2.Actually the first time i notice it. It must a matter of housing in big part.If you end up with PRO900 i highly recommend the famous "Kees's modding" for your need.

The HFI780 is a good, all-around phone. I sold mine only because I just could not find a decent fit and comfort level.

The only Ultrsone I've heard is the one I have currently: I can also justify to the fact the bass is extremely present on the HFI780: both physically and sonically.
Percussion and especially electronic bass/synth is fenomenal. With the Beyer velours is a bit softened though...
