What tube amp is the most cost effective route to go if I were to get a dt880 600ohm. I don't mind stock tubes or whatever, I just want to power the cans sufficiently and then i'll worry about different tubes and their different sound sigs later.

I was looking at the Little Dot MK II, but a confusing thing on their spec sheet is a power output of 300mW @ 300/600 ohms. So if it means at both 300 & 600 ohms, it puts out 300mW? If so, that's sufficient right? Or should I go for the mk III which has 50mW more output power? Other suggestions welcome.

I should clarify my budget. I don't want to spend more than $300. That's my cap.

I also have an ASL OTL MkIII and it is good with NOS tubes (preferred are orig. Mullard or Amperex EL84, and a Raytheon 5751/windmill)..................but, better for 600ohm Beyers (as well as modded k340) is Ming Da MC84C 07 - again with NOS tubes (orig. Mullard EL84 best choice, and Mullard or Raytheon in the 12ax7 or 5751 sockets). You go to Pacific Valve & Elec. for this beauty.

Agreed - it's a very good choice. The Darkvoice 336 also works well with 600 ohm cans in that price range. So does the WooAudio WA3.

What do you think, guys, about Little Dot MKIII in pair with DT880 600ohms ? I've got this amp and now I have to decide which neutral headphone should I choise for It. Than again, shall I go for DT880 or MKIII will not reveal their entire potential ?

LD MKIII works great with the T1, and I based the decision off others in this forum that said they worked good with the DT880 600-Ohm. Plenty of power.

It's considered the best bang for the buck amp they offer.

I use my WA3+ with all my 600Ohm beyers and I get exceptional results, especially with the T1. The DT880/600Ohm pairs really well with the WA3+ as well.

I would look around to see if you can get one used for around $350-$400, but if not the Little-Dot and Darkvoice amps are still a great choice.

Zombie_X, thank you for replay.  I think you did not understand my question. I am not going to buy an amp for DT880-s 600ohm, I do already have Little Dot MKIII. The problem was choosing a good matched neutral sounding headphone (for lesser than 300$). And I do not have the chance to sell MKIII and buy a used WA3. This is my final and stand alone setup (as I can not afford many toys).

WOW , this is a really interesting point of view.. I was doubting if this cheap amp can handle T1's smaller brother DT880, and now, if you say is true (and not an exaggeration), I think I've got an answer on my question

. But I would be also glad to hear the recommendation from the owner of the both, DT880 (600) + MKIII . At the moment I posses DT990 250 ohm and I find the synergy so-so (too bright overall)...
Any other suggestions , opinions are also valuable.

Sorry about that I misread your question. And the T1 is a lot more efficient than theDT880/600Ohm so it's easier to drive. That said the MKIII has more than enough power to push the T1's drivers as well as the DT880/600Ohm.
