I'm using an amp kit that I know requires two lines of 24v AC power. However I'm not well versed in the technology of transformers.

I see many 24Vx2 transformers but the VA value is always different. I'm not sure what I should need and my kit doesn't really clarify.

Here's my kit.

thanks a bunch,

King.

If the kit does not specify the power requirements for the transformer I would contact the manufacturer for information. If that won't work, I would use 350va as a minimum. (150 watts per channel plus some headroom) A larger VA rating won't hurt as long as the voltage is correct and may improve the performance.

Spoke to the guys who sold me the pcb and then sent me a transformer. I haven't wired up a transformer in a while. Just want to make sure I know what I'm doing..

so the pins for the 3 prong power connector... I assume I'll wire the Active/live to one of the 117v pins and the neutral to 0?

There's a spot on the transformer for earth ground.

thanks,

King.
