If you don't need multi-channel SACD, the 333ES is generally considred to have better 2-channel playback over the 555 in un-modified version. Neveretheless, I still reco you find a modified 333 or 555 for cheap. Rock on!!

Reliableaudiovideo.com has the Arcam for $700, however I'm not sure if they're an official dealer, so the manufacturer's warranty may not apply.

AVHiFi.com has the CD72 at full retail price ($900) and they are an authorized dealer.

Join Team Arcam. You know you want to.

I gotta back up Arcam. Their dCS Ring DAC based players are just utterly smokin' for redbook.

Hear, hear!! I cast my vote in for Arcam's stuff. It may cost some dough, but man does it take redbook stuff quite a bit farther than most players can!! Makes the music just SSSSOOOO much more enjoyable to listen to. It takes anything you can throw at it in stride without even thinking about sweating.

If you aren't in too much of a hurry, it might be worth waiting for some opinions on the new Philips DVD 963SA DVD/SACD/Upsampling CD player.
At $400, if it impresses others as it did Tuberoller, it should be a steal!
