So i'm trying to replace my old logitech z2300 speakers with something a better.
Mainly I will be using the new setup for games and music, with some TV shows and movies here and there.

So far, i've kinda narrowed my choices to this:

  1. Dayton audio 12" Subwoofer $109 from parts-express.com
  2. Micca MB42X Bookshelf Speakers $79.95 from Amazon
  3. LP-2020A+ Lepai Tripath Class $20 from Amazon

And obviously some speaker wire, thinking 16 gauge but not sure about that or the price.

So that setup would come to around 220-ish dollar counting the speaker wire.

Or I could get the Swan M50w for around the same price.

My question is, which setup would sound better overall?

Or is there a better setup for the price?

Check out the Monoprice 5" studio monitors, they seem to be rebranded M-Audio BX5s.
Normally $165, on sale today for $124.34

I've been using them for a few weeks now, no complains.

That is just a little out of my price range if you add everything else.

But between the 2 sets I posted, what would be better?

The only problem with the first set up is that it would take around 10 business days to ship.

EDIT:I can also drop the sub down ton 8" for the first setup, I think 12" might overwhelm the speakers.
