which ones for iphone, shuffle and macbook klipsch S2, UE metro fi 170 or new apple in ear?

what music do you listen to, what sound do you like and what do you want them to use for?

mostly bands like Tool, PJ Harvey, Janes Addiction, Alice in Chains and to mostly workout. don't care if it has a mic or not.

I have shure slc4 which are great but man the cord is long. so looking for something shorter and sounds as good. So far tried the both versions of the apple in ear

and I have tried these as well ue 4vi and ue metro fi 170 and the klipsch S2

the Klipsch is very comfortable, but lacks a little in the solid bass dept.

Kinda looks like all of these may be lacking solid bass, kinda makes it a hard decision.
It it helps any, I saw the Klipsch 2 on sale for $49 at Best Buy last night.

If you can find them for $60, the Ultimate Ears MetroFi 220 might be a good bet. It has pretty decent bass response and good sound quality overall.

I suggest grabbing Lenntek Sonix High Definition phones from qvc.com right now for $20 shipped. Same phones are $99 elsewhere (buy.com). They have solid tight bass and they are clear and detailed. P.S. apple in ear are balanced, not bass oriented phones.

So you don't care about the mic/line gizmo for the iPhone? X5 doesn't have it.

no mic line needed. I never used that stuff. I have the metro 4vi its gonna be for sale soon, never opened.
