I once owned a Creative earbud too and guess that would be the only one from Creative in my life. I bought M4 1 year ago and I love it. The soundstage and vocal voice is awesome. I haven't tried M5 but reading some reviews about it, I have to say to trade those for M5's pros is not a wise choice.

The M3 are really nice, they sound amazing spatialy (completely  3 dimensional!)  bass is punchy but not overbloated, very clean detailed sound.  They are my go to in ears~
