I'm looking for a headphone and ı have three options that AKG K701, BEYERDYNAMIC DT880 and SENNHEISER HD650. which one is the best for all kinds of music especially for rock and pop? where these cans are sold the cheapest on the internet sites? and for last, how much will ı pay if ı want to recable them with balanced cables?

HeadRoom, I'd say go for the AKG's or the Senn's. You may also want to check out that headphone review site.

HeadRoom is very good about returns, so I suppose you could always buy both and see which one you like more.

Yea Headroom would probably be a good choice... they also supply balancing with xlr plugs most the of the balanced cost about the same as the unbalanced.

I'm not 100% positive, but I *think* headroom will match lower prices, assuming you can find a lower price that's actually advertised and it's from a legit dealer. You can find a lower price, but probably not one that's advertised.
Plus, IMO it's worth the little extra $$ to deal with headroom instead of some sketchy site. Headroom has some of the best customer service around, and their return policy is fantastic. Heck if you give 'em a call they'll help you with your headphone-picking dilemma as well, in addition to every one here offering their opinions.

I have both the HD650 and AKG701 (both brought from Headroom), and find that the HD650 is more fun for rock and pop. The AKG701 are great, but more neutral sounding. I haven't heard the DT880, but I have heard the DT990. It was great for highs and bass, if that is what you are looking for. I heard the DT880s have a lot of bass and are also great for mids and highs. Hope this helps. The SR225s are great for rock. They don't require a lot to drive them as well. I love my RS1s

Also, I would recommend you get at least 2 from Headroom and do a A/B comparison to see which one you would like. Good luck on your search.

Hello

I can't speak for the HD650 nor the DT880 since I don't own them but I can speak for the AKG. The K701 is quite detached and laid-back. It is merely okay for rock/pop but there should be better headphones (perhaps the DT880) to suit your needs. K701 is a great all-rounder especially for jazz (ooo yeah!

)

If you listen to rock/pop considerably more than other music genres, I would first consider the other options..

I think HD650 will be the safer option. I have recommended these cans countless times and always with success. They are probably the best all rounders under $1000, and certainly are better than the beyers 880 with rock.

Dont get me wrong, the k701 is still a viable option..

Of course the best thing to do is to audition them all first..!

no I don't get you wrong

but anyway most of the people don't propose the K701s for my features wanted. I think the common opinion is in that way : for rock music DT880 is the best in them.

First of all...do you have an amplifier? If yes, what amp? This information is a must!These guys can find a headphone right for you! Finding the right headphone for the right source/amp and other stuff..is very tricky sometimes!

If you don't have an amp yet..then don't event think at HD650 Dt880 or k701
