Hi,

Choosing between the two IEMs listed in the subject. My priority is sound isolation. These are my go-to-work phones so sound quality is not that important; isolation, however, is paramount because I take public transport.

The mega-IEM guide here on head-fi (http://www.head-fi.org/t/478568/multi-iem-review-259-iems-compared-rock-it-sounds-r-10-and-r-11-added-10-14-12) lists the HF5 as having 5/5 isolation, and the MC5 as having 4.5/5....but I'm not sure what this really means.

Price is not an issue. I plan to pair the phones up with Complys.

Thanks for the help!

The difference in isolation between the two is very small, both are class-leading in isolation. If the HF series isn't that much more expensive for you, I would get those because of the superior sound performance.
