Hi ,

I am still a newbie in this site. Recently I am researching on a few hd dap players. Which of these players do you think have the best sound quality unamped with UESFP5 or Grados 225?

1.) Zune
2.) iAudio X5L
3.) Zen Vision M
I was considering gettin a toshiba GB60G since they just recently dropped their price but I heard some nasty review that makes me reconsider this option. Please give me some advice... thanx!

You probably heard/read this a few times already:
1. zune
2. Rio Karma

Not sure about iAudio or iRivers (I never owned one) but lotsa owners for those DAPs have high praises for those two - they do have excellent Headphone Out unamped.

And if you have tons of $ to spare it would have to be Kenwood (I forgot the model but the price is no less than $500)

i've had the iAudio X5 and have currently the ZVM, and I prefer the X5 of the two. But I've heard some very good things about the Zune, so you should go to a local store and maybe listen to it yourself.

I think it's Trekstor Vibez right now. It's even sounds better Rio Karma. And For Dapreview, it's the best DAP with that all sound features. You can read yourself http://dapreview.net/news.php

I have an X5L and a Zen Vision M. The X5L SQ from the headphone output is definitely better to my ears.

I've had all three, but not at the same time.
I prefered Zune and X5 to ZVM. However, I cannot directly say which sounds better between the Zune and the X5.
I somewhat think that Zune sounds better than the latter in my personal perspective, but who knows...it could be the placebo effect.

I havent heard the Zune, but I'd be really surprised if it sounded better than the X5

Hopefully they figure out how to rockbox the Zune since I can only imagine the annoyances that Microsoft has placed in your way as per how to put music on and get music off the device.

Glad you mentioned what you went with... sometimes you can't tell with these threads and that's always a pet peeve.

I am using UE Superfi 5Pros and Grados SR225s on my zune. Still waiting for it to get here to Asia. Can't wait to get my hand on my zune. I am planning to upgrade to Triplefis in May for my birthday. Anyways... I am really looking foward to use it for traveling. Sansa is just not doing it for me at the moment. But once again... thanx everyone for the useful info. I will post again once I get my zune.
