I am looking for a mp3 player and I like the following in mind meizu m6, samsung k3, TrekStor Vibez. I am also open to any other mp3 players you think are good and worth while. I dont wnat to go higher then $169 which is how much the 8 gig vibez cost. So yeah if you can tell me which one you think I should get and why.

I would recommend Creative Zen V plus 8 gb (flash mem) or Creative Zen Vision:M 30 gb (hard dr.) . On a good day, you can easily find a deal on them within your budget (after MIRs on buy.com etc).

Pros: They sound probably the best among their class IMO. They are feature packed (all state-of-the-art features including FM) and are a great bang for the buck. Vision:M has a beautiful screen if you care for videos.
Cons: Vision:M is a bit bulky. Zen V plus's buttons are a bit small.

If you can go up a little on your budget, then iRiver clix (4 or 8 GB) is also a great player.

The views above are my opinion. Others may differ.

The Cowon D2 is just slightly above your budget at $174.99 at newegg.com....and that player is awesome....has it all...and more...and the thing I like the most is the awesome sound quality...and you never get tired of it....they keep updating the firmware and adding new things...it has 4gb of built in memory but you can add a 8gb sdhc card...and soon a 16gb card...

Does anyone know how the vibez feels in hand like is it easy to control and stuff.

yes, it's very easy to control it. the vibez isn't so big and rough that shown in pictures. when you get it in your hands, you can see what a small player it is. the magnetical whell is so useful, you can stroll very easily and very fast in 12gb media with magnetical whell.

If you like a really clear and detailed sound with efficient EQ options, I'd suggest the Sony NW-A808. Personally I prefer the warmer fuller sound of the NW-S706, but an equal amount of users (of the 808 and 706) like the crispness of the 808 better. One sounds like vinyl, one like cd - so it depends which sound you prefer.

The 808 has a great screen, and although I never use it to watch videos, it's nice to see bigger artwork after using the 706. I also had the ZVM for a while which has one of the nicest screens I've ever seen, and the transfer times were so fast I felt a bit cheated having used the crap that is SonicStage. The reason I returned the Zen was because I had to have it at almost maximum volume 21/25 to get it to the 'right' level and it would start to distort slightly (with Shure E4 headphones). The volume limiter had had been removed so it wasn't that. It seemed to have trouble driving the headphones I was using but with the CX300s, it was fine - it's just I didn't want to use them with the Zen.

On the Sony I could set the volume at around 17/30 with the Shures, for the same volume, so it didn't distort at all. I prefer the Sony sound overall and with the EQ you can just about make it sound how you want - except you can't make it sound 'warm'.

1. Katsmiles, you must be near-deaf. 12-14 is generally the "right" level for me on my Zen, and around 18 in loud places (public, indorrs places).

2. I love my ZVM, and it cost me only $200 on sale, compared to the $250 Zune and other expensive players (although it really only cost me $50 with my Best Buy voucher

). It sounds pretty nice to me, although I have noticed some sibilance lately. That could be my lack of an amp or my headphones, though (KSC75/SR80). It has a very nice screen, and although I don't do too much video watching, it is nice to have. The FM radio gets decent reception too (compared to my old Zen Micro).

I don't like how the Zens (Zen V and Zen Vision:M mainly) sound that much any more; they're not deficient in any area but they're quite neutral and uninvolving.

I've compared the Zune and ZVM recently and was not impressed by either of them, frankly. The ZVM is just..muddy, has little soundstage and generally bassier. Zune is airier and has more soundstage but has incredibly grainy vocals. It also sounds pretty thin in comparison. Wide sound but it's incredibly sparce and just...thin.

Haven't heard the smaller DAPs so I can't say how they fare/don't fare. Heard that the Trekstor has noice soundstage though. Also read that it could drive PK1s(!). Someone also managed to amp them and got good results.

There are many reports that the Meizus sound worse amped so you might like to keep that in mind.

cowon D2, the SD Card slot makes it ideal. you will have unlimited sotrage.

SD cards can in theory go up to 128GB.

so unless cowon stops supporting it with firmware updates, you will have great mp3 player with excellent playback

(plays all majoy lossless format)

and an astounding 52hrs battery life for audio, and 10hrs for video.

My opinion, i would get a Cowon D2, except my old 3G 30GB ipod, refuse to DIE.

Any issues with the battery? (Like I've seen with Ipods?) Is the battery replaceable?

no reported problems with the battery so far, you get a nice long warranty for it.

But unfortunately like the ipod, the battery in not replaceable, due it its small size and custom shape.

mind you, if your travelling somewhere with it for more then 52hrs without a powerplug in sight, then i think you need something else....
