Which looks more promising to you? The Samsung YP-P2 or the Ipod Touch?

Both really REALLY look good.. and both come in 8gb capacities. i think the only major difference among them is that the P2 has bluetooth & fm radio++better battery life while the Touch has wi-fi. As for sound quality, well, i do think the P2 would sound a bit better, since samsungs are also known for their SQ (plus a custom EQ too).

purely from what i've seen, the touch looks like the player i'd buy if price weren't an issue. great interface, really neat features, i'd take wifi over bluetooth any day, and it will likely have TV-out.

however, the P2 still looks very nice.

I think it comes down to 2 things.

The Touch has Wifi and a Browser (Mail will be added via 3rd party tweaks)

The YP-P2 probably has way better video codec support, including an actual 16x9 screen.

I guess it depends whether you prefer connectivity over media support.

The iPod Touch...
As it has WiFi and can be used to browse the web, download music from iTunes Store, etc.

I voted the Samsung but now that I think of it I'd say the Touch. Wi-fi is cool and I like the interface more.

It's true that both come in 8 gig models, but the Touch tops out at 16 gigs. For me, that's also a major difference.

Well if we're just comparing 8 gig models, the Samsung really works for me. But I'm still not %100. I personally wouldn't be looking at either, but between the 2, I'm leaning towards the Samsung.

Now here's a good comparison... tough call really, but I think I give the iPod touch the edge. I have to tip my hat to Samsung though, that's a great design on their player as well.

well, i hope for the touch but as for sq, if it is indeed lifted from the iphone, sensitive iem users, beware hiss. i have used samsungs often and have not found their sq to be that good - very bloated and too bassy. they make a full sound if that is what you mean for good sq.

even though the yp-p2's screen is 16:9, the ipod's screen is bigger with a higher resolution. i'm guessing widescreen movies would actually be bigger on the touch. the samsung supports WMV9 and MPEG4, not really better than the ipod.
