Title says all. Trying to decide between these for male vocals and emphasized midrange. I mainly listen to John mayer, dave Matthews and classical music. The koss UR-55 is only $25 on amazon while the pro100 is about $65. The pro100 i've heard needs m50 pads which will set me back another 20 bucks.
 
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I have a fiio e11 amp so it's no problem with amping these cans.

It's not even a close one..DJ100 is $65, but is normally $75 and even then it's a steal for me.
 
IMO it's closer to the sound signature of the KSC75 and not the Porta Pro. UR55 is closer to the Porta Pro.
 
The DJ100 is better for female vocals than male. UR-55 has more mid-bass for sure.
 
DJ100 sounds perfectly fine with stock pads and M50 pads are NOT required at all.
 
I would say the DJ100 is comparable in sound (with a good amp/dac) to the SRH-840/940, M50s, KRKs and the HFI-680. Different signatures obviously.
 
BTW for classical music, I'd say the M50 pads are a must..
 
UR-55 can't match the detail of the DJ100 and it sounds muffled in comparison. UR-55 is a fun headphone to listen to and even better than the Porta Pro.
