I am looking to buy some new headphones for myself and I came to this forum for some personal advice on which I should choose. Let me begin by saying that I've done my research and narrowed my selections down. My max price is about $150 (Preferably $130 and under).

I game a lot, but I also am often on Youtube listening to music, so I want a good balance between highs, mids, and lows. Also, I voice chat a lot with friends. What do you think of these: http://www.modmic.com/ It's an attachable mic and has good reviews on multiple websites. I've heard that gaming headsets with built in mics are generally not as good for the price as an audio headset. Feel free to provide your own input

These are in NO specific order.

Option 1:

Sennheiser PC 330 GAME Headset - Links below

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003DA4D34
http://en-us.sennheiser.com/gaming-headset-stereo-pc-330

Option 2:

SteelSeries Siberia V2 Full-Size Gaming Headset

Both Option 1 and 2 have built in Mics. I've heard that headsets with built in mics usually mean that the actual audio is not as good quality, but these both have great reviews.

Option 3:

Sennheiser HD558

http://en-us.sennheiser.com/audio-headphones-stereo-hifi-hd-558

Option 4:

Sennheiser HD-280 PRO Headphones

http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD-280-Pro-Headphones/dp/B000065BPB/ref=lp_2266982011_1_17?ie=UTF8&qid=1374602694&sr=1-17

Option 5:

Audio Technica ATH-AD700

http://www.amazon.com/Technica-ATH-AD700-Open-air-Audiophile-Headphones/dp/B000CMS0XU/ref=sr_1_29?s=aht&ie=UTF8&qid=1374602781&sr=1-29

Option 5:

Audio Technica ATH-A700X

http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-A700X-Headphones/dp/B000E9VKUQ/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1374603483&sr=1-2&keywords=a700

Option 5:
Are there any other headphones you guys recommend? Also, if it's not a headset with a built in mic, I would like a microphone to talk on skype, etc.
Is this mic noteworthy? http://www.amazon.com/Zalman-Zm-Mic1-Sensitivity-Headphone-Microphone/dp/B00029MTMQ
Or this one? http://www.modmic.com/

I would highly reccomend option #1 the mic is pretty good and the sound isnt bad either. but if you want to sacrifice the closed back and the mic you get much better audio quality from option 3, plus a removeable cable

GramKraker: Thank you for your answer. I am definitely considering Option 1 as I've heard many good things about Sennheiser!

What source(s) will the headphone be plugged into?

It will be plugged into my desktop computer. I guess this means an AUX or USB jack. The sound card is the one that came with it. I'm not sure if I should get a new soundcard or if it's not needed. This is a fairly new desktop, purchased within the last 6 months.

Spend $25 and get a JVC HAS400. It sounds better than some headphones that are over $100. it has great detail and feels solidly built.
