Hello,

I wanted to get Alessandro MS1 to put them directly to EMU 0404 output line (throught Fid Audio breakout cable).
But I was told that volume is too low with this set-up.
So which headphones could be used instead ?

Honestly, I would really consider a headphone amp, even a cmoy. Unlike a Soundblaster card or whatever, the 0404 does not have a headphone out. It only has a line out. Therefore, you'll find yourself trying to blast the internal volume to get a decent squeak- and your poor onboard soundcard amp is going to hate you. Look around for a $25-45 used Cmoy, plug that into the 0404 using a dual 1/4 mono to mini stereo adapter cable, and you should be set.

For a set up with an amp, in my budget, I was advised to look for PIMETA amps.
I understood that for low input impedance, a PIMETA amp with OPA627 or 637 would be the suitable solution. It would be more coherent than using AD8610.
Am I right ?

As strange as it sounds, you want headphones with an impedance of at least 50 ohms, otherwise you'll need an amp to reach a comfortable volume. The Emu's analog output drives high impedance cans much better than lower. If you get a higher impedance can, you won't need an amp unless you plan on listening at unsafe volumes.

I use the 1212M, I was also told my A900s (40ohms) wont be loud enought. surprisingly, while the volume is set to -10db, its strong enought for me.
