regardless of price...? is it a cheaper or more expensive phone? those bose phones get alot of spotlight round here, be it awfully negative. i thought there may be a popular phone that has somehow slipped through my solicitous net of enquiry.

It's gotta be the SR-60. Over the last few months...it would be the MS-1.

Yeah...take that back...YWD got it I think. Although the moderator could also be right.

Sennheiser HD-580/600/650...I'd wager it's not even close.

you would also have to search for the combined permutations as well.

HD-580 HD 580 HD580. Also sometimes headphoens are referred to by less than the full name, so just 580 is a possibility. The HD650 also gets a lot more mentions in passing than many headphones, either as an exercise in comparison or in reference. That doesnt mean its elicited the most time or attention in itself.

Basically I think that the OPs question is not definately answerable.

I would bet money on the HD600. It's been the benchmark for so long that the probability it gets mentioned approaches 1 the longer a thread goes.

What about the Jecklin Floats, Doug?

Reductio Ad Sennheiserum.

-edit-

Do a search on Floats here and I'll give good odds that I've posted in the threads that come up at some point, so long as they came after May 2005. ;D

difficult to quantify i know, but i would also consider this as relevant focus on the particular headphone. if a phone is constantly used as a reference yardstick, good or bad, that interests me.
