which headphone has elicited the most attention / time, since HeadFi began?

regardless of price...? is it a cheaper or more expensive phone? those bose phones get alot of spotlight round here, be it awfully negative. i thought there may be a popular phone that has somehow slipped through my solicitous net of enquiry.

You can find out pretty easily what headphone has been talked about the most by doing a google search like this hd580 site:www.head-fi.org

HD580 = 44,100 Mentions.

HD600 = 46,700 Mentions

HD650 = 278,000 Mentions

SR60 = 28,400

.........etc . Looks like the HD650 could be the answer.

HD-580 HD 580 HD580. Also sometimes headphoens are referred to by less than the full name, so just 580 is a possibility. The HD650 also gets a lot more mentions in passing than many headphones, either as an exercise in comparison or in reference. That doesnt mean its elicited the most time or attention in itself.

Basically I think that the OPs question is not definately answerable.

difficult to quantify i know, but i would also consider this as relevant focus on the particular headphone. if a phone is constantly used as a reference yardstick, good or bad, that interests me.
