I'm thinking about getting a portable can to use for my favorite music: rap/hiphop ("stuffs" like Eminem, K.West, Timbaland...).
I narrow down to 2 choices: PortaPro and K81DJ .. and still can't decide yet.
What's your opinion about them? And, I will use my DIY 75ohm cable.
My sources are my laptop and Sony DAP.
Thanks for your reading.

Stick with the K81 DJ or K518 DJ (both are the same) if its a matter of price... otherwise HD 25-I

I love my PortaPro's for hiphop I had them for years now. I prefer the Grado's SR80 for rock. I do not, however, have any exprience with K81's.

I listen to Rap and Hip Hop near exclusively, and of those two would choose the K81DJ.

Personally,I would save more cash, and get the DT250-80'S,and an amp of some sort to help with battery life (as alone they'll kill just about any DAP battery right quick,or get some Jays.I had a set of 25-1's fall apart on me fast (months after purchase)

Thats my next project (Jays q-JAYS) in Black.I tried them, and love what they do for my music.

It looks like that many stick with the K81DJ.
Has anyone here try recabling it? How does it change, in term of SQ ?

@Manny Calavera: I want to save my budget to get the iBasso D2 this weekend

That's why only sub-100$ cans...

I spent two full afternoons listening to the K81DJ's,many months ago,and liked them for the scratch. As to budget constraints,I understand

I have zero expirience with recabling, and its effects.

The K81DJ looks great from it first-sight

However, I really dislike its over-long cable. I wonder why AKG puts such a long cable for a portable can like K81 ?
