Hi,

Trying to find cd-player with high sq. Best situation would be that the player goes straight to my Little Dot amp.
At this point I can't find a difference between Onkyo and Denon players. Different dac etc, but sq wise no idea.
It's hard to find any reviews. Is there significant difference between Denon dcd-520 and dcd-720?

Is Marantz player really that much better that I should pay 50% more? CD5005 and SA7003 (used) costs the same.

Or is there a better value player with good sq in 200-300 price category (big plus for playing sacd)?

Thank for your help in advance.

Maybe use an external DAC, like a Schiit Modi (optical) and get a lower costing CD-player, with an optical output port.

I much rather have a decent player now and at some point buy a DAC.
At this point less is more. So no DAC. Only cd-player with good sq.

I`ve had the c-7030 with the excellent onboard Wolfson dac for a few months now and really like it. I`ve had (knock on wood) no issues with it whatsoever.

c-7030>Asgard 2>Fostex/Massdrop TH XOO...Fidelio X2...HE400S...ATH M50.

Some of these units have had transport problems, if you decide on this unit I`d buy it through Amazon. Easily returnable. Anyway check out the Amazon reviews. It`s because of the reviews/price, I decided on the Onkyo and am glad I did.
