If you like a warm sound with your music you definitely can't go wrong with the HD555. Good, warm, balanced sound with good soundstage and imaging for your movies and games.

I was faced with this exact decision a few months ago...I ended up going with the HD485s because they're much warmer sounding than the HD555s....which was ideal for movies mainly. I posted a mod on here a while back about the HD485s, and they're extremely competitive with the 555s once modded properly. The HD555s sound wonderful however, and highly recommend any of these headphones.

I will be in my room!
Well i'd say no to the HD 280 based on the negative reviews i've read about comfort!
I read awesome reviews about the hD 485 and it has detachable cord which is a +.

havent heard the ATH A500s but i know they are closed and have some high end bass reproduction technique on their headphones

i have lots of firsthand experience with the HD555s and i can say they would be amazing for gaming.

if you want to block out sound i would go with the A500s simply because they are closed, the HD555s if you dont care.

also look at HD280s if you can. those are more of a DJ headphone than anything though, the coiled cord will tell you right away.

This is so creepy, as i read more reviews, more attracted i get to the higher end models that cost more $$$$$$ (bones) lol
I hate this!
How about the HD595? but i think im gonna go with the 555!
One more question, i currently have the Sennheiser PC151 would the HD 555 blow this away?
Thx

Neither hd555 or hd595 are bright or detailed for their price,so if you look for an advantage in multiplayer fps they wouldnt be as good as the other choices..You should give sa1000 and denon d1000 more consideration, based on the reviews I've read they're really really good for their price, have exellent detail and comfort.I'm not sure but d1000 might actually have a real leather earpads judging from the pictures,if thats the case its a serious aspect too - most velour pads flatten and most pleather pads peal, over time

Well, the 595 is about $70 more so i didnt want it, the 485 is not as good quality sound wise(what i read) the Audio technica ATH-A500 seemed good but so bulky and ugly looking (similar performance!) Grados not for what i need Movies and games and it is ugly and uncomfortable (what i read).
The sony v6 old technology might not work with games and movies!
The HD555 very comfy, recomended by many for gaming and movies, looks good(not as good as the 595) single cable design,open,$105 total price tag was just right.
