stcbr: Good find! Finally it makes sense, what the Beyer lady told me almost two years ago: The DT531 would get a redesign. And this new series is apparently what came out: DT531 cups in silver colour, single instead of double sided cable, a new headband design with foldable mechanism and new 32 Ohm 40 mm drivers... very interesting...

The new beyers seem to be intended to compete with other low impedance headphones for those who wish to be less dependent upon using headphone amplifiers. I hope they sound as good as the classic high impedance models.

b&h lists their dt531 at 250 ohm. are they selling old stock, or is it the newer, 32 ohm version and they just have old info on their website?

-edit-
okay, i see the newer folding versions on the pdf. does anyone know which of the newer models corresponds to the dt531?

redshifter: Afaik, there are no other DT531 versions than the 250 Ohm model - so the b&h stock should be fine. I wonder, whether the new models come close to the DT531, though - but maybe these do even better...

How come the 990's are less expensive than 880's? Some serious marketing issues there =P
