Alright, so I am getting the Sennheiser HD595's which I will be using with my iPod. I need an amp that is somewhat portable as I will be getting the small backpack from Headroom that holds the cans, ipod, and amp.

The more portable the better. I don't want to spend more than $160.

I was looking at getting the Simpl A1 Amp which is extremely portable and hooks right up to the back of the ipod but how well does it work? I was told by the owner of Simpl that it works GREAT with the 595's.

I was also taking a look at the Headroom Airhead amp.

What do you guys think? Let me know. Thanks!

Well right now its between these three amps:

Simpl A1 Heaphone Amp: http://www.simpl.com/
XIM SuperMacro Headphone Amp: http://www.fixup.net/products/macro/index.htm
Headroom Airhead Amp: http://www.headphone.com/layout.php?...tID=0000010001

I am leaning towards the Simpl A1 due to how well it goes with the ipod and how portable it really is not to mention its 10 bucks less than the Airhead (Not that big of deal... 10 bucks.) and 110 bucks less than the SuperMarco.

So what do you guys recommend?

I think you should get the JMT transportable PIMETA - 150 dollars and comes with the option of both bateries and AC adapter. It's pretty portable too. http://jmtaudio.com/transportable_he...e_amplifie.htm

Im not a fan of the unenclosed amps.

The idea of taking 595 + amps does not sound very "portable" to me. If i were you, i'll just buy an PX-100 or portapro instead of an amp.

For home use, that is completely different story.
