A fast question, and I hope I don't end up sounding like too much of an idiot.

I've read past posts, but I can't seem to find the serial on my AKG-701. I've looked all over the right earcup, and I wonder what I'm missing.

Could anyone describe the specific location (preferably in inches) as to where I'll find this enigmatic number? Thanks for the help!

It should be right above the right earcup, on the inside. Right underneath the leatherband (the underside of the leatherband, i.e. the grey part).

Thank you very much for the detailed instructions...I did find it!

But get this, my number (3627) turned out to be above the left earcup - contrary to what I've read. Maybe somebody at AKG was trying to pull a trick on me.

It probably means you got the rare "error" headphone. Should be worth a couple thousand in a few years

They put the sticker on the right or left side deendendig by... (??), i dont' know... (I dont' think this affect the sound in any way).

Actually, I think having the serial on the left cup actually improves the sound. Too bad it can't improve my taste in music.
