Hi

I was wondering where you can find these, they seem to have dissapeared. Are they no longer available? Any help finding them would be much apreciated.

Thanks

newark has them in stock. but 37$ per chip isn't really something you could consider 'cheap'

edit: to-99 package. you can just bend the legs, it will fit easily into a dip socket

Ah thanks,

the 8-Dip are only $18.38, is there a differance besides form factor?

Thanks

$18 is a steal for an OPA627. The 637/627 just happen to be the finest audio opamps made by Burr-Brown, and they know it. They also happen to be the richest, most luscious sounding opamps in existence. The OPA2107 is but a poor imitation of the 637/627 series - I say that even though I like the 2107 in many situations - but it doesn't compare to the real 637/627's.

The OPA627 is expensive because the di-fet process is expensive. I don't think it's anywhere near the best op-amp BB produces for audio applications (not to mention there are some great offerings from AD which are also not the popular picks here), but head-fi has certainly done its part in propagating that view.
