Sorry about all the OT topics lately spouting from me, but this is the member's lounge afterall...
Anyways, I was just in the shower and thinking to myself that I would be a richer man if I had never gotten into headphones, which has now propelled me into audiophilia in many different areas in general. And the cause of all this? The internet. I don't think I would have the same information about high-level electronics if I didn't read a bit here and there, and then delve deeper and deeper into the topic.
Without the advent of the internet, I would probably be sitting at home with a pair of Sony MDR-V700DJ off my PCDP, thinking I was the ****. I would also be ~$600 richer, and possibly more content with my 'rig'. As they say, ignorance is bliss.
Without the the internet, I would not know the slightest thing about graphic cards, and I would probably still have a TNT RIVA2 sitting in my computer. In fact, I would probably have an HP desktop with bugs and gliches and a celeron processor, because I did not know better and it was cheaper. I would not have my home-built computer that runs silky-smooth for me.
These are just a few things off the top of my head of how my life would be different without the internet. It's only been maybe 8 or 9 years since I've had access with my old 14.4 modem and AOL account, and a lot has changed since then (including myself). It is also hard for me to assess my life without internet, because it came into my life during my formative years, and it is hard to say whether I changed, or whether the internet changed me.
So how has the internet changed your life, and where would you be today without the internet? Has it enriched or dimished your life?
