Sorry about all the OT topics lately spouting from me, but this is the member's lounge afterall...

Anyways, I was just in the shower and thinking to myself that I would be a richer man if I had never gotten into headphones, which has now propelled me into audiophilia in many different areas in general. And the cause of all this? The internet. I don't think I would have the same information about high-level electronics if I didn't read a bit here and there, and then delve deeper and deeper into the topic.

Without the advent of the internet, I would probably be sitting at home with a pair of Sony MDR-V700DJ off my PCDP, thinking I was the ****. I would also be ~$600 richer, and possibly more content with my 'rig'. As they say, ignorance is bliss.

Without the the internet, I would not know the slightest thing about graphic cards, and I would probably still have a TNT RIVA2 sitting in my computer. In fact, I would probably have an HP desktop with bugs and gliches and a celeron processor, because I did not know better and it was cheaper. I would not have my home-built computer that runs silky-smooth for me.

These are just a few things off the top of my head of how my life would be different without the internet. It's only been maybe 8 or 9 years since I've had access with my old 14.4 modem and AOL account, and a lot has changed since then (including myself). It is also hard for me to assess my life without internet, because it came into my life during my formative years, and it is hard to say whether I changed, or whether the internet changed me.

So how has the internet changed your life, and where would you be today without the internet? Has it enriched or dimished your life?

Well, I guess I would say it has enriched my life...................and diminished my wallet.

I'd be all sad and alone, listening to my cool Sony streetstyles wishing there was such a thing as decent headphones...

I met my husband, and his beyers online. And I'd like to say it wasn't one of those lame chat rooms, nor irc. It was a MUSH. Anyone remember what those are?

Ah, these of the following would be missing

1 - My Pioneer DVD player, probably would have still got one but not cheaper and multi region

2 - About $5000 richer - DVDs, Headphones,

3 - $1000 Poorer, Money saved buying on the net

4 - Will think Nividia makes the best Graphic card, instead of a ATI9700Pro now that is in my Computer.

5 - Wouldn't have made friends around the world.

6 - Wouldn't know about a lot of things, ie photography.

7 - A lot more sleep

I'd be able to look at real pictures without thinking "Damn, that resolution is insane", or "that pixel shading kicks ass"

And i'd have a girlfriend too... oh wait... nevermind

I'd be out in the street looking at **** instead of sitting in front of my monitor.

But can't you do that on your monitor, Tuberoller?

I'd have more money, Sony E805s and a cheapo PCDP, as well as too much free time. I'd also probably be super-fit.

Hmm, i'd be missing all of my MD gear except the R37. A lot smaller taste in music, and probably a bit more shy. Fitness wouldn't change, as I was lazy before I got the net. (about 1998 or so)
