Hi! I've been testing out different headphones at a couple of places in the city, but have not been able to find any Beyerdynamic headphones (DT770s) at those locations. So if anyone knows where I could go hook up my iMod rig to to listen to some more headphones it would be greatly appreciated. (BTW I'm in the MSG/Macy's area)

I've already been to:

Sound Exchange.
Audio Cubes on 8th.
Sound by Singer.

Thanks.

Guitar Center has them. Don't know if there is on in your area though.

I was actually wondering about where I would need to go in NYC to demo some headphones and I was also thing about testing out some beyers(and Grado). Would I be able to find headphones from both manufactures at the places in this thread?

Thanks. There is one on 14th Street. They have the 80ohm version. Is there a noticeable difference between the 80ohm version and the 250ohm version, where trying the 80ohm version won't sound anything like the 250ohm version, or is it a subtle difference, where if I like the 80ohm version the 250 ohm will be the same just sound better. (I tried the AKG K271s and I was kind of neutral t them, but then I tried the K701s and really liked them; I also liked the SR225s, but those are both open cans, and I'd like them to be portable for times I don't want to use my iems, and fellow metro north commuters may not be happy with me having open cans on the train.)

My portable amp looks like it can drive both cans.

I found Grados at Sound Exchage and Sound by Singer. SbyS had the full complement of the SR line and the RS1 and RS2. Thye were very nice and I spent 1 hour just listening to different cans without any interruption. They were very nice.
Sound Exchange had the AKG K271 and K701s and some Grados including the SR225s which I liked. ALso nice, but I had to listen to them with a salesperson with me the whole time, and part of the time I was at their sales counter.
Audio Cubes pretty much had what they have on their website. no grados.

Did the audiocubes store have amplifiers and cd players so that you can test out their headphones on a quality source? I am going to be in nyc sometime next week since I want to demo some of their audio-technica headphones.
