Hi,

I was trying to fix my DAC2, and I think I accidentally burned out the TORX176 Toslink receiver with my soldering iron... Does anyone know where I could get another one? I'd really appreciate the help (can't live without my DAC!

).

I think the TORX176 has been replaced by the TORX179 which digikey has but they have slightly different pinouts.

Oops, I didn't notice you had already edited your comment to point that out. So I suppose there's no way to use the 179 in a socket that's designed for the 176?

It only needs the three pins (out, gnd, and Vcc) so it should work with the pins at a slight angle to match the pins.

(I don't mean to be annoying) but are you 100% sure that would work? I'd be replacing the TORX176 in a Bel Canto DAC2, if that makes a difference.

I've used the 179 but have not actually replaced a 176 with it. It could be an upgrade to the 176 if you can't find one.
