Just ordered a jolida 1501rc and I want to know of a reliable place where I can get some 12AX7 tubes at. Also what are some 12AX7's I should be contemplating? I like a detailed, warm, airy, and punchy sound. I know its hard to find that all in one tube, but if I could have perfection, that would be it. Thanks.

An interesting comment from someone who uses neither capitalization at the beginning of a sentence nor proper punctuation in a contraction.

Thanks, this was indeed a very informing read. Looks like I'll be getting some 5751 tubes. Now the search begins.

btw, how hard is it going to be to change these tubes? I am going to have to bias? A question I should have asked a long time ago. I assumed that I could just change them.

What are the original tubes and what are you going to put in their place? If you are going to use a 5751 where a 12AX7 is there should be no problem. The gain is lower on the 5751 but not enough to matter and the bias will be fine. The 5751 just a few years ago was cheap. They would sell for 4 to 5 dollars and then they got hot. Too bad but also realize there are a number of later military JAN versions that are not very good. You need the early version of this tube and the triple mica is more desireable. The RCA black plate is good as in the GE 5 star. There are some that are way too expensive but if run at the right voltages they should last a long time.

Thanks so I should be able to just swap with ax7's or 5751s.

Can anyone help me find a Sylvania Gold Brand grey plate gold pin pair? I've been searching to no avail. Thanks.
