I've been looking for replacement ear pads for my T1 but can't find them anywhere. Anybody knows where I can get them ? Can I use DT990 ear pads ?

Thank you for your help !

Nobody ? Well, I think I'll buy some cheezecloth and straw and make it myself. DIY is always the way to go !!

I was curious of the same thing. I'd kill for some soft leather ear pads like it has on the head band.

According to the specs, it uses EDT 990 VB, which is simple DT 880/990 velour pads in black color, so it should not be hard to find.

I cannot fathom how a set of earpads can make a headphone sound bad, but I guess I'll experience it first hand when my replacements come in.

Ear pads can change the frequency response by letting through, absorbing, or reflecting sound in different ways. The DT770 pads are more isolating than those made for the DT880/DT990/T1, and using them on the latter results in a much bassier sound; the midrange is probably affected, too.

Thank you for your help guys. I've found a couple of dealers that sell the DT990 ear pads but they all charge 25 $ +++ for shipping to Canada ?!?!?!?!

That much for shipping? Man I could buy you a pair and send them via USPS to you for $5 shipping via International First Class. Would take a week though and a few to get the pads in.

I've had my T1 for a long time and I have always used the stock ear cushions, EDT 990 VB, and I also own a T70 that uses something called "ear pads made of micro velours" what ever that is. One day I decided to switch the pads from the T70 over to my T1,  I'm not sure if the sound got worse but there was a change and I didn't like it.
