I'm going to be in Denver for a couple days next month, and I was wondering if anyone out there can recommend a good place for me to go and plug in my iPod to listen to (or at least to shop for) some decent cans. I'm particularly interested in listening to some Grados and Senn 580s and or 600s.

Listen Up has Grados for sure, and possibly the Senns. (Check their website for location, hours, and a catalog. www.listenup.com)

Soundtrack chains have some Senns but no Grados. They might or might not have the Senns you're looking for.

Good luck.

Hey, thanks for the tip. Looks like they carry Grado and Sennheiser. Their catalog lists the HD580 for $199 and the SR80 for $95, pretty much what I see them for all over. The SR60 is $69, so everything looks pretty much like straight retail pricing. I guess once you factor in shipping from somewhere online, you'd come out about even with tax.

I got my HD600s at listenup in boulder. It's an nice shop, but a bit expensive. They had the headphones listed there for $450, but since it was on their website for $350 they let it go to me for that much (I was to impatient to wait two weeks to get the headphones for $290..and I wouldn't have gotten the rebate I don't believe if I had ordered them online since I wouldn't have gotten them shipped in time)

I do believe they are the only shop that carries senns and grados though, and you can probably just go there to test them out and hten order them online.

oh, and I don't believe sound track carries past the HD570s in their shop. But they have one pair of 600s at their warehouse for $400..

Well they still have them for $350 on their Web site, so I guess they haven't learned their lesson yet. What I really want to do is listen to them anyway; if they jerk me around on price, I'll just walk out the door and get them somewhere else. I'm not above paying shipping, after all....

Then my META, and I'm set....
