Hello all,

I'm at a stage now where I will be upgrading all my sounds needs, I've already done so for the living room (with new 5.1 system, etc etc etc) not I'm looking to upgrade my study/office sound.

As it stands I currently listen to most of my music from my computer, said computer has a bog standard SB audigy from which I connected my absolutely divine pair of Sony's MDR-V300 (I know, I know...please don't hit me).
AH D 5000GS
Now, I mainly listen to trip-hop, electronic (not transe or techno) , drum n' bass, and orchestral piano music...(just but to name a few artists, Zero 7, Lamb, Portishead, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Thievery Corporation, I think you can start seeing the trend...)

Now I've set myself a budged of up to 1000 pounds (or 2000 in US dollars) for a pair of cans and a decent amp for them.

I initially started looking at the Sennheiser HD650 I even got around to demoing them, but I don't know why they sounded really flat and just uninteresting, to some dream I dread to say that my current sony's where better, when I know for a fact they're not. Now I don't know if it was because the guy that set them up didn't really know how to set them up or the rig they were linked in to (can't remember the brand now, but I think it was a decent CD playing rig) didn't have enough juice to power them up, nevertheless after reading a lot about them I'm still reserving judgment.

Now there are a few cans on the line that interest me, mostly because I've heard so much about them and how good they are in theory...

They are as follows, The Denon AH-D5000 (I just love the look of them, but I know that at this price it can be the looks that have to be considered), the Grado SR1 & GS1000 and finally the Stax SRS-2050 II.

I just want feedback what do you guys think?

As far as amp's are concerned, I have no clue what so ever what do tie the above mentioned can's with and I think that where I REALLY need some help... Also just out of curiosity, I'm going to buy a Denon Denon AVR-4306 for my living room to power up my main speakers, would this rig be able to cope with the above mentioned cans?

Anyway I'd like to thank you guys in advance for the input on this...I'm having trouble making up my mind.
