Topic covers it really, where can I get these for a decent price?
Either with a Paypal cc account, or a creditcard? Almost had a deal on the 'bay, but since the seller is within eu, and do not want to send it to where I go on holiday to save 25%vat (and I do accept and respect sellers decision on that), where can I get these for a good price with a respectable seller?

Anywhere reliable where you would actually want to send your $450+ dollars to is out of stock right now. Denon keeps pushing the ship date for more back further and further. Even if their site says they have them in stock, be very skeptical.

We have to wait and wait and wait for Denon to ship from China, get to the distributors, then get to the retailers before we see them.

I expect we will be at least 4-8 weeks without stock, unless you want to pay full retail at a vendor like the fine folks at Headroom (which may not be a bad idea if you want your warrantee and don't plan to mod them.)

Isn't D5000 always "out of stock" from provantage? Just wondering because they are listed as "special order". Actually I'm gonna buy them soon and I have been thinking of buying them from provantage.. the price is extremely good. In Sweden they are $900, TWICE as expensive.

But I don't want to wait for 8-10 weeks until I get them...

They are in stock at Headroom for $699, I think I will buy them from there if I don't want to wait forever.

If you buy in Australia rather than ordering from overseas, the price here is AUD $1499 which is over USD $1400 - THREE TIMES as expensive!

That's a crazy markup! Especially considering how much closer you are to Japan than other countries.

PriceJapan.com . It is well respected site here and it shows that the price of D5000 to Europe is 348 euros . I bought Audio-Technica AD2000 from there 3 weeks ago and AD2000 price was 346 euros then . You have to take into account that there will be added VAT and customs fee , because you buy outside of EU ( but it will be with Headroom too if you decide to buy from there ) . PriceJapan fellas marked the customs value 10200 yens and it went through like that in Estonian customs . Even if they start snooping and you have to pay on actual price I think it won't be more expensive than Headroom's price . You can pay by PayPal for PriceJapan or by bank transfer . I chose the latter option. It was shown to be some Korean Banks account , but the bank you will pay the sum is actually in Frankfurt . So you can use SEPA payment , which costs about 2 euros (in Estonian SEB branch office) for both parties . Good luck in your hunt for D5000.

I do wonder if they sell more than a dozen a year at that price...

Someone else mentioned here about the reliability of PriceJapan.com & i can vouch for them personally. I bought my W5000's from this group and it arrived within a couple of days & at a third of what they retail for here in Australia. The D5000's cost only $AU560.00 to Australia from this site. Looks like i need to get myself a pair.

The rrp here in Norway is 998usd, and the importer is famous for not giving discounts... In fact, that is their policy. They are supposed to have great prices all the way. And mostly, their prices for their Denon stuff is not bad, but headphones....

Guess I will have to try to control my urge(not a very famous trait among head-fi'ers I belive

) during the holidays and get the headphones in a month's time when getting back. And I do look forward going back to dial-up internet....
