When can I ship after getting a cashier's check as payment

I have sold quite a few stuff here. Buyers paid either with paypal or postal money order. Postal money order can be cashed instantly. This time I am gonna receive a cashier's check, and I don't have the issuing bank in my area. I heard that cashier's check can take a few days to clear. I am wondering when I can ship after putting the check into my bank account. Thanks

It's best to ask your bank. Explain that you are waiting for it to clear before shipping something. Also, keep in mind that just because it's a cashier's check, doesn't mean it's good. Good luck!

Make sure it clears your bank...about 4 - 5 days most likely. Two years ago I was scammed on here for a little over $200 with a bogus cashier's check. Never did recover my amp or funds. Don't spend it before it clears!

Ask your bank how long it will take to clear. When the time is up, be sure to give them a call to make sure everything is OK before you ship.

Also, be sure to tell your buyer what your bank says and let him know how long it will be before you ship.

Each bank will have a varying amount of business days, so just ask.

I once had to wait 9 working days for a cashiers check to clear. If a buyer can't or won't use PayPal or get a postal money order, a personal check clears much quicker than a cashiers check.
