Probably not much help from me, as both my favs are not under 100, but just for the record it's my Sony CD3000's and Senn HD600's.

Never found any under $100 that I personally liked.

Easily the KSC-35. They sound as good overall as any other sub-$100 headphone I've heard (some have better treble, some have better bass, but I haven't found any with the overall balance of the 35). Plus they are the most comfortable headphone of ANY I've ever used, work great out of a portable, show significant improvement out of a good amp, and can be used when exercising without falling off. What more could you ask for for <$100?

And they're only $30

IMO, the best bang-for-the-buck in all of audio.

Some people feel they are, but I personally don't. The MX-500 are more balanced, while the E888 are definitely "upper half" earbuds. The upper part of the spectrum is very good, while the lower part isn't. They MX-500 don't have the upper mids and treble of the E888, but they have better lower mids and bass. I prefer balance. If you prefer detail, then you may like the E888 better. But at 4 times the price, it's a tough sell (to me).

ya i actually like my 50's a little better than my grado sr60's....50's have better bass, less scratching on the ears, and they dont feel like theyre squishing my head....

Aiwa HP X-222.
Blocks out noise, use it when guests are over. =)
For open, Kenwood KPM-610, good for travel/comuting use.
Sennheiser MX500 for active use. Especially good for classes due to ease of consealment.

Should I just say "The obvious" or should I say KSC35.

Just got them today, and they really are awesome.

Sony V6, w/ the Koss KSC-35 in close second.

For sound quality alone, I'd say Grado SR-80's. For a 'closed' design, I'd go with the Sony V6/7506. While some folks think the V6 sounds a little sharp, I'd use the term 'honest' instead.

I haven't heard the Koss 35's, though I'm getting dangerously close to ordering a pair of Porta-Pro's.

sennheiser mx500 users or anyone tried them... do you find the treble on the senn. mx500 to be fatiguing? [cuz i do!]

"Sony MDR-A44 ($20-25), Sony MDR-E888($50-80), Sony MDR-V6($50-80), Sennheiser MX-500($17-20)" which one would you rate from best-to-worse?
