Yes, I said a dream car but let's try to be more realistic here, let's hear what's your dream car that there's a big chance you might buy it in the future.

Mine --- BMW Z3 M-roadster.

It's one beautiful car. I promised myself that I will buy this car someday, possibly in red. I found BMW Z4 ugly. It's such a shame.

i'm trying to justify an E39 BMW M5 within the next year. ive had some track time with it and IMHO its the best all around car on the road. i cant believe how balanced it is considering its size and weight.

for a dedicated sports car id like to build a 3rd gen RX-7 from the ground up with a full rollcage. either 3-rotor naturally aspirated, or 2-rotor with a medium sized single turbo boosting about 15psi. either way that car would be 2600lbs running low 11s and handling like a true race car.

id also really like an Ariel Atom.

A 1970-ish Citroen DS 21 would do nicely. It's out of my budget right now, but down the road I'll easily be able to afford one - unless, of course, the prices rise drastically higher than they are right now. The same thing goes for an early Studebaker Avanti (R1 or R2, I'm not fussed).

Now, something I hope to end up in a bit sooner than either of those (because I really wouldn't want to purchase a 40-50 year old car without ample time and space to work on it) is an '02 Saab Viggen 9-3. I have a thing for Saabs, and I figure that some of the Viggens will be down in my price range by the time I get out of university.

VW GTI. Would LOVE one of the new ones, those things are awesome. Realistically in my budget? A city Golf prolly. (Student income FTW!)

R32
300XZ TT

if there was one car that i could own and be happy for the rest of my life with, it would have to be an M5, maybe RS4 or CLS55

New job permitting, next year might have the Acura TL I've been wanting (07 or 08 model). Great features, good power, great quality, attractive price, I can't lose

From the ground up? Really? Quite amazing, that. Wouldn't this be on another level when compared to say a kit cobra? But how cool would that be, driving your very own hand (yours) built rx7. Isn't it quite a technical car, with the wankel engine and all that?

Acura RL 3.5 awd
used lexus ls430
Truck wise for snow nissan xtera, honda pilot or the toyota 4runner
the ls460 when it becomes more attainable
My dream car is either the lexus ls600H (too much bling)
nissan skyline R34 (not avaliable in US, the new to be US release R35 is too much G35ish).
I think in the end the 2005+ RL is the one thats most attainable, I also live in an area where it snows so I prefer fwd or awd.

yeah, i say ground-up build b/c the RX7 was a mess from the factory, Mazda made sacrifices to keep the car civil and the cost down, but the combination of the chassis, suspension geometry, and a rotary engine really make it something special when its done right. it literally needs to be competely gutted and rebuilt with better parts to make it reliable and safe. a close friend of mine has had a few RX-7s and they can be tunnel-vision fast in a straight line and at the same time handle better than anything else in production, short of maybe a Porsche GT3 or Ferrari Challenge Stradale, and obviously the super-exotics.

i have never driven a Cobra kit car but i have been a passenger and they are fast b.c they are reletively small and have a big displacement motor, but they are not on the same level as top-teir sports cars, they have a solid rear axle which is crap when it tries to turn.

My dream car, as stated in the "Post Car Picture" thread, is the SC400 + mods.

Really, really affordable in the near future, as the car itself will only cost ~8K USD for a good condition car. The mods, on the other hand...

Can't wait for co-op job placement.

Ok, here's the list of affordable cars I would like:

1995 Mitsubishi 3000-GT VR-4 (specifically the 1995 model)
Mazda RX-7
Toyota Supra
Honda S2000
VW R32
Any BMW M
Porsche 911
and of course, the Ariel Atom!

Also, in homage to my current car, a Subaru Legacy GT (I have a Legacy 2.5i Normally Aspirated one at the moment).

How's that for a list??

Have you ever driven one before? If so, how does the car feel to drive? My experience with my mom's RX is that it is completely detached from the road and doesn't really feel like you are driving it. Does the SC also have that detached feel?
