whats your 60gb 5g ipod's battery life?

I just tested mine on a straight playback loop, about 75% volume, 224 aac without playing with the screen too much and only got about 12 hours...

I tested mine a while back when I got it - 256kbps AAC, 50% volume, Senn MX400 earbuds, no touching buttons, EQ off, etc - and got about exactly 20 hours from what I remember.

I haven't formally measured, but on mine playing Apple Lossless, the 5g 60gb doesn't seem much different than the 4g 40gb I had -- 10-14 hour range. This is just an impression so I could be way off but I was expecting a lot more like closer to 20.

i tried playing it till it died and doing a fresh recharge, im hoping this will fix the battery life.

< 12 hour battery life for 224 aac seems just wrong.

5G 60GB going on Apple Lossless with UE-10's and the normal screen usuage gives me roughly 16 hours.

Video - played straight - 3 hours 35 minutes.

yea, running it dry fixed the battery problem. I got it to run for 3+ hours of straight video, and it still had some juice for me to workout at the gym.

8 hours with ALAC. I am going to try running it dry and recharging. I asked the "tech" (sure he is) in Apple and he said 8 hours "sounds about right" - where do they get these people, Starbucks? (no offensive to anyone who works at Starbucks)
