winamp 2.76 with MAD mp3 decoder engine .I always like the winamp GUI and find it easy to use.Also like the way it looks,kinda like REAL audio gear if using the base skin

Same as rickcr42, but I also use Apollo. Not as flashy, but has (arguably) slightly better sound.

i heard that the MAD decoder is better than the default winamp 2.78 mp3 decoder.

Windows Media Player (main PC CD Player) - http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...ad/default.asp
Fraunhofer WPlay3 - ftp://ftp.iis.fhg.de/pub/layer3/wp32v23b5.exe
and Winamp (and I prefer nullsoft to the MAD decoder)
I mostly encode my own mp3s with Lame389 @ 320kbps full bandwidth(-q0 -ms -k). I use highest quality setting VBR (-v0) for classical songs.
I also use:

Winamp + MAD + MADEC. Still sounds like crap but nothing I can do about that, but I have a nice amount of music to pick from.

PJB100 for most things including home listening. When that's not possible, it's Winamp with MAD though I've never gotten 24-bit output to work through my Tascam US428
.
I think for computer listening Winamp w/ MAD into an Audiophile 24/96 card and perhaps the Art DI/O would work really well.

Winamp, MAD for 24 bit decoding, cdreader, Shibatch equalizer. I'm starting to fiddle with iZotope Ozone. It seems to be a promising dfx plugin. ¿Any experience with it?
