Hello,
Has anyone out there heard or used the headphone jack on the Marantz CD-5001 CD player?
If so, how good is it sonically, and whats the output like?
What is it like with AKG K701's, Senn. 650's, and Beyer 880's?

it's decent. I've tried it with my HD580's. It can't compete with a standalone headphone amp, but I wouldn't expect it to. I would say it's on par with many DACs with built in headphone outs. ie, it's not quite as good as the headphone out on my Zhaolu, but much better than the headphone out on my Beresford. I like my maxed PIMETA better
