i got a new pair of e5s brand new for 255 shipped, just before the release of the e500.
best deal i have recieved recently is an 86 bmw 325i for free from a friend. still looks and drives great
I must share in my greatest latest deal; A 50hr new, MAD Ear+ Purist HD amp with twin source selector @ like 40% off the price paid this year $700+shipping from Canada; Scored off of our F/S forum, for $435 shipped+insured....
The gentleman has two pages of positive feedback over on audiogon where depreciation of used gear of 40% - 50% is common practice.....
And he still ownes the same MAD headamp at the summer and/or ski cottage up in Vermont....
my dads friend got a new HT system, and gave my dad his old stereo (entry level pioneer 815) to my dad to give to me....but it was broken.....but still under warranty!!!
well after having it repaired for free, i noticed there was still some issuues with midnight/ loudness settings (not like i use them)... so i sent it back.
a month later the repair shop said they would fix it (***holes).
i called pioneer and they shipped me a rebuilt (and perfectly fine) 815. the 2nd model up...for free!
i got a 250$ receiver for 0$ + gas money
anyway, i have it hooked up digitally to my auzentech xplosion soundcard...and i must say the digital connection (dts) ROCKS. i am using the receiver both to power my phones and to power my speakers
I bought a $40 green laser and they not only send me that laser, they also send me a $370 laser by accident. So I sold that on eBay and bought an M Hornet.
DT880 for $165. I purchased a pair of DT880s from Jan Meier for $180. But because I also purchased an amp (an Aria), he took off another $30, so split the difference between the gear means $165 for brand new 880s. I thought that was a good deal.
K501 for $99. That included shipping. A great headphone for a great price. Want to try out the 601/701 pads on it.
HD580 for $150. This was years ago (maybe 6-7). I don't think they could be purchased for that price then. What I did is buy an HD580 & DSP Pro (a small amplifier) combo from Audio Advisor for $200. I then sold the DSP for about $50.
These aren't huge bargins, so much as they are very reasonable prices. Can't ask for more than that.
Well, to be honest, it wasn't exactly a deal because I couldn't afford it at that moment, but at one local hifistore I was made an excelent OFFER: used (about 6 month old or so) HD 650 for only 150€ (about 190$)!
Ok, so it would been an excelent deal, but again, to be honest, I´ve never liked that much the sound of HD 650. It's just too dark for the music I listen. Plus I couldn't afford an amplifier, so...
